How to Manage Upsells for Direct Bookings

The Upsells feature in iGMS lets you offer additional services to your Direct Booking guests, improving their experience while increasing your revenue. With just a few clicks, you can create, edit, and assign upsell offers to your properties.

To get started, navigate to the Direct & Upsells tab in the iGMS app and click on Upsells.

What products can you offer?

1) Default Upsells:

iGMS automatically creates two standard upsells for each property:

  • Early Check-In

  • Late Check-Out

These serve as a convenient starting point and can be customized to meet your needs.

2) Custom Upsells:

You can create offers tailored to your property and guest preferences. For example, airport transfer services, breakfast or meal packages, local tours or experiences, and other optional extras.

Default Upsells

The default upsells come with configurable settings:

  • Picture and description: each default upsell includes pre-set images and descriptions. You can upload your own images and edit the descriptions if desired.

  • Product Variations: set different prices for each hour. For example, charging more for a 3-hour early check-in than a 2-hour one. Here you can also set the currency.

  • Taxes: enable Add sales tax/VAT and input the applicable rate to ensure accurate guest billing.

  • Availability Settings: use the Available When settings to control availability. For instance, selecting No check-out on the same day ensures guests can't book Early Check-In if another guest is scheduled to check out that day.

How to edit the default upsells:

  1. Click Edit Early Check-In or Edit Late Check-Out Service.

  2. Adjust the settings as needed.

  3. Click Save.

Creating and Managing Custom Upsells

To add a new custom offer:

  1. Click Add Another Custom Offer.

  2. Fill in the service name, upload a picture, enter the price, and write a detailed description.

  3. Optionally, enable taxes and allow multiple quantities for services like breakfast or tours.

Assigning Upsells to Properties

To make an upsell available at specific properties:

  • Use the All button at the top right of the upsell list to assign offers in bulk.

  • To include or exclude individual listings, check or uncheck them manually.

  • You can also manage upsell visibility in the Property Editor (General --> Upsells) by toggling availability for each listing.

How Guests See Upsells During Booking

Guests can see upsell options on the payment page after entering their contact information. The interface displays:

  • The reservation details on the right side.

  • Available upsells on the left side.

If a guest selects an upsell, it will be added to the invoice breakdown, and the total payable amount will update accordingly.

Managing Upsells as a Host

You can manage and review selected upsells in the Reservation Details section under the Services tab or in the Reservation Card which is placed in a guest thread:

  • All chosen upsells appear on the guest’s invoice.

  • Charges are included in the total price.

  • You can modify or refund upsell charges directly from the invoice interface.

  • The upsells chosen by guests will be displayed within the threads as automatic system messages.
